SOMETIMES I THINK
I AM VERY LUCKY

Sometimes I think I am very lucky. I have health, family (including my dog), friends, to be able to study and to have the basic things to live. And most importantly, I love myself, just the way I am. For a while I didn’t accept myself. I didn’t accept my physique, and that made me have less self-esteem. I saw most girls with a good body, or on the internet, social networks influence a lot, and teenagers like me suffer a lot, especially people who are more sensitive and are influenced more quickly.

In all this time to accept myself, as I am, I have had some help, for example, it has helped me a lot to write in my diary (I still write), I wrote everything good that happened to me in the day to day, and the things for which I should feel lucky, and there are many, everyone has many things to feel lucky for.

Music, music made me feel free, it motivated me to move forward, it made me feel safe, yes, everyone has their own style of music, in my case I could highlight English pop (from Katy Perry to Shawn Mendes) and rock (from u2 to Green day).

Books, reading, reading makes me feel that I am transported to the story, that I leave all the problems aside to swim in a sea of letters, where each book has a different story and makes you feel in a different way.

My dog, Luna. Although it may not seem like it, a pet can make you an incredible companion. They will never judge you and they will always, always be by your side, it is the most faithful and pure love you will probably have in your whole life. And think that to them you are perfect just the way you are, and it doesn’t matter what other people think of you. What matters is what you think of yourself.
And when you come to realize how lucky you are, for your health, for family, friends…or that we should think that many of us have a life that many people can’t afford and we should feel lucky.

And something as simple as living, life is a gift, we must enjoy it to the fullest, we cannot be wasting time thinking about our physique, for example. We must stop thinking about the life we would like to have had, or how we would have liked to be, we must think about the life we are living day by day, and we are as we are, we must accept and love ourselves.
Love yourself and love life.
