Dear Friend: From Rosie

Dear friend,

how are you? Doing well, I hope. It’s been almost a year since I’ve written to you last. I promise you that while I may not write to you as often as I’d like, not a day goes by that I don’t think of you. Not a day goes by that I don’t send out love & support into the universe in hopes that it will reach you.

I hope you still always remember that you are worthy. Worthy of love, success, acceptance, being heard, peace, healing, forgiveness, confidence, & happiness. Remember to spoil yourself with the same love you give to others. Speak to yourself with love, forgiveness & acceptance, you are important & valuable. Making yourself happy is most important, it is not a selfish act, rather it is selfless because if you are at your best, you are giving others your best. I hope you also remember that your strength is not defined by your ability to mask your emotions and put on a brave face for the world. But rather strength comes from acknowledging your emotions and allowing your heavy heart to heal. Catherine Woodwiss explains that to heal means to “acknowledge & wear your new life with courage & wisdom.” So wear it, wear your courage & wisdom proudly. Give yourself the time and place to heal. You deserve to heal. You are allowed to let go, it’s ok. Until next time.

Love always,

Your Friend

We understand we sometimes need more support than writing and reading letters. We all experience hard times. But you are not alone. If you or someone you know is struggling, there are many forms of support. If you or a loved one is in immediate danger, call 911. It is important to notify the operator that it is a psychiatric emergency and ask for an officer trained to assist people experiencing a psychiatric emergency.
