I almost forgot: From Ruth

I almost forgot how you look like,
Your intoxicating eyes, the lovely wrinkles on your forehead, and the way you attractively scrunch up your nose in disagreement.
I almost forgot how you look like,
Until dreams hunted me with your disguise.

I almost forgot how you sound like,
Your addicting laugh, your soothing hums, and the guarding voice you make as a promise that we’re okay.
I almost forgot how you sound like,
Until the blaring silence brought me back to life as you called my name in your instinctive luring way.

I almost forgot how you smell like,
As your scent lingers in the room, when you walk past me where I can feel the air lifts me up so high, and when I get to kiss your neck the sensation your scent is giving me helplessly driving me crazy.
I almost forgot how you smell like,
Until I entered a familiar empty room and smelled nothing but dull autumn breeze.

I almost forgot how to love you like,
The way we speak in silence, the way we move in sync, and the way our hearts forgives.
I almost forgot how to love you like,
Until I settled with the thought that we’ll never be in love again.

I almost forgot, almost.
I never regret, never.
Loving someone out of my league,
Cause you are my only exception, indeed.

We understand we sometimes need more support than writing and reading letters. We all experience hard times. But you are not alone. If you or someone you know is struggling, there are many forms of support. If you or a loved one is in immediate danger, call 911. It is important to notify the operator that it is a psychiatric emergency and ask for an officer trained to assist people experiencing a psychiatric emergency.
