Happiness? What defines that? Is anyone ever 100% happy? If you were to ask a group of people what makes them happy; you will get a variety of answers. Some will say family/friends/pets while others will say traveling/money/thrill-seeking activities, etc.
How do we know if someone is actually happy or faking it? You hear so many stories about someone who seemed so happy but yet they took their own life.
A lot of folks say “do what makes you happy” but this is the real world – people judge – most have to work – some say they need illegal drugs to be happy – etc
I started this off planning on writing about how I believe I feel true happiness when I hold my daughter – but as you can probably tell I’m not holding her currently and somehow my mind has drifted off to questioning happiness…
Am I happy? I would say generally yes – I love my life but I also know I would love to travel more – I would give anything to see my mama hold my daughter just once but I know that can never happen and sometimes when I look at or hold my daughter I remember that and then I feel sad and even angry at the world sometimes…I think that thought is what started me down the rampage
If you made it through this mess, I truly hope you are generally happy – if not please talk to someone about it or maybe make a small or large change in your life but know it is NORMAL to not be happy all the time

Hello, I love your letter ,
In the way I see It , we as a society end up defining happiness as somenthing you should aim to achive , a costant state of bliss, but I belive happiness is something you can find every day , regardeless If you feel sad or happy , It´s about acceptance of our emotions and of course this insn´t always easy to do but I think about the Buddhist concept of Nirvana , It´s not about erasing negative feelings , It´s about finding , reconizing, cultivating a state of peace, a balance between all that you can feel :sadness ,happiness , fear , compassion…
