With my heart a little bit broken: From Andrea

With my heart a little bit broken, I wanted to write these lines, because I’m feeling unsure. I don’t know how I should be feeling or doing. A thousand questions pop in my head every single minute of the day. Am I in the right place? Am I doing the right thing? Is this what I truly want? But, what is exactly what I’m looking for?

I miss the everyday nature of my life back in Mexico, my almost daily visits to Starbucks, driving around the city, hanging out with my lifelong friends, the everyday short walk trip to the store around the corner just to get chips and Takis.

I’m here, so far away of home, because this was supposed to be the first step to get to my main goal of living in Europe, but now I’m not so sure anymore that I want to stay here and build my life in Germany.

I’m feeling lost, I don’t know what I’m doing and the only thing that I want for sure is to be hugged by my mom, a cup of coffee from my hometown and a bag of purple Takis.

We understand we sometimes need more support than writing and reading letters. We all experience hard times. But you are not alone. If you or someone you know is struggling, there are many forms of support. If you or a loved one is in immediate danger, call 911. It is important to notify the operator that it is a psychiatric emergency and ask for an officer trained to assist people experiencing a psychiatric emergency.
