You’re worth the fight: From Sara

This is my journey through my mental health. A little background about me, trust me it will all make sense. I was born not breathing for 5 minutes which resulted in a minor brain injury. I was diagnosed with bipolar at the age of 5, then many more mental health conditions since then. I have trauma from my childhood due to my parents health and almost losing them. I was bullied all through school. It honestly broke me, I lost myself at that point. I was 10 years old when I started to self harm. It got really bad for a long time. I am now 30 years old with an amazing husband and an even more amazing sin. I have been clean of all forms of self harm for 5 years now.

My whole family and I have named the negative thoughts and the negative part of myself. Nega-Sara. It has helped remind me that I am not those negative thoughts, it’s something I deal with, it’s something everyone deals with.

I look back at my life often and I know without a doubt that I wouldn’t change a single thing. It has shaped me into who I am today. I almost died back in 2017 because of a medical emergency issue due to an unexpected pregnancy. That day will be engraved in my head. I used to hate who I was and hate everything about myself. Since that day it was like a switch was flipped in my brain. I am now able to fully love myself, it’s still hard at times though.

We are not defined by my mental conditions, they are something we get to deal with. I say get to deal with, because I don’t see them as a burden. I see them as a teaching experience in life. We are blessed to be able to assist those who may be going through similar experiences. Like with September Letters, we all are able to share our own experiences and help others, too give others the hope they may be lacking, too let people know they are not alone.

I was in a training a few years ago and it changed my life. I broke down the walls that i had created. I got in touch with my inner child. I learn many tools to assist me through hard and dark times. I was given an assignment to write my own creation statement. I say it to myself multiple times a day. I encourage everyone to make one.
Write WHO you are, what your purpose in life is and what you create. This is mine.

I am a creative, trusting and inspiring divine woman of light. My purpose is truth, joy and service. Therefore I create peace, wisdom, freedom and abundance in the world.

Always remember you are NOT alone, you ARE loved, you ARE needed and that you ARE enough. You CAN make it through this. Keep your head up, you’re worth the fight. I am so very proud of you.

Much love and light to each of you.
