Past Self: From Beca

Dear September,
“What do you think your past self would be proud of you for if they saw you now?”
My past self would be proud of how I am celebrating my sensitivity.
While being a sensitive person can be very overwhelming I am learning to celebrate this part of me. I have always felt like I see the world differently than others, I feel and think deeply, and saw this as a negative. I now realize that this unique way of seeing the world is special and something I should not be ashamed of. My past self would be proud of me for realizing this – sensitivity is strength.
September, this realization brings me hope. Hope that one day I can be fully at peace with who I am.

  1. Yes! Sensitivity is such a super power — not everyone can do what you do and think how you think. Love that you’re embracing who you are and your gifts. Hope your self-love journey continues into 2022 and beyond!

We understand we sometimes need more support than writing and reading letters. We all experience hard times. But you are not alone. If you or someone you know is struggling, there are many forms of support. If you or a loved one is in immediate danger, call 911. It is important to notify the operator that it is a psychiatric emergency and ask for an officer trained to assist people experiencing a psychiatric emergency.
